Company Coming Over And Have Dogs In Your Home? 2 Tips To Get Your Home Smelling Fresh

If you have dogs in your home it is difficult not to have some type of dog smell no matter how much you clean your home or your dog. If you have company coming over to your home, you want them to have a nice scent when they walk through your door instead of smelling dog odor. Fortunately, there are many things you can do to get your home smelling fresh, two of which are listed below.

Use Essential Oils

Essential oils have many uses from helping with health problems to cleaning. Essential oils also make a great aroma in your home. You can find essential oils at retail stores, as well as online, and they are available in a variety of scents.

Add five to 10 drops of essential oil into your vacuum cleaner bag and then vacuum your home. The scent in the bag will come out in each room you vacuum. Put a few drops of essential oils, such as citrus, cinnamon, or clove, into a pot of simmering water on your stove to get your kitchen smelling nice.

Soak a cotton ball in your favorite scent and place it behind your toilet. Your guests will not see the cotton ball and your bathroom will smell great.

Finally, fill up a spray bottle with water and add about four to five drops of essential oil, such as eucalyptus, tea tree, lavender, or rosemary, and shake the bottle to mix the oils and water. This makes a great room spray to make any room smell nice quickly. You can even use on the go essential oil kits to always have them with you.

Use Vinegar

Vinegar does not smell good so it may seem counter-intuitive to use it to make your home smell fresh. It does work, however, because vinegar soaks up the odors instead of masking them. When you get finished, the vinegar smell only lingers for a short time.

Fill some bowls with white, distilled vinegar and put a bowl in each room in your home. Let them sit overnight and when you wake up you will not smell pet odors.

Vinegar makes a great room spray also. Put approximately two tablespoons of white vinegar and one to two teaspoons of baking soda in a spray bottle that has a fine mist. Wait a few minutes for the fizzing sound to stop and then add water to fill up the bottle. Spray the air with the mixture, as well as your carpets and fabric that is water safe.

You can continue using essential oils and vinegar after your guests leave to ensure your home always smells nice and fresh.
